Our Indian Connection

The Mar Thoma Liberal Catholic Church is not an Orthodox Church yet we do hold lines of Apostolic Succession from all the major branches of Eastern and Oriental Orthodoxy including the East Assyrian/Nestorian St Thomas Succession (see below) and the Malankara Syriac Succession from India.

​As well as the Liberal Catholic rite we count among our authorised liturgies the ​
​
Holy Qurbana of the Mar Thoma Liberal Catholic Church ( a Liberal Catholic version of the Divine Liturgy of Mar Addai and Mar Mari)  and the Bharatiya Pooja, an Indian style  liturgy from Kurisumala Abbey (Cistercian) in South India.
